Former Premier League side Great Olympics earned a crucial 1-0 win against Na God FC to keep up the chase in the fiercely competitive Zone Three of the Access Bank Division One League.
Ibrahim Abubakar’s 8th-minute strike sealed the victory for the Dade Boys, who now sit second on the table with 25 points after 11 matches.
The result keeps Olympics within striking distance of league leaders Hohoe United, who continued their impressive home form with a 1-0 victory over Koforidua Semper FI at the Hohoe Sports Stadium. Kwadwo Boamah’s 12th-minute goal secured Hohoe United’s sixth consecutive home win, solidifying their position at the summit with 28 points.
In another Zone Three clash, Attram De Visser were held to a dramatic 1-1 draw by FC Nania at the Tuba AstroTurf. Alhassan Benny put Attram De Visser ahead in the 17th minute, but Ruben Quaye’s last-gasp equalizer in the 90th minute salvaged a point for Nania.
With just three points separating Hohoe United and Great Olympics, the race for the Zone Three title remains tight. Both teams are expected to fight tooth and nail as the league progresses, with every point proving critical in the battle for promotion.
