Comic actor Lil Win has debunked claims that an act of negligence resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy involved in his Saturday accident at Amokom, in the Kumasi Metropolis.
The boy identified as Richmond Tawiah Ampomah is stated by his mother to have been neglected by Lil Win after the accident, consequently resulting in his untimely demise.
However, in a press statement issued on May 28, Lil Win’s management denied the allegations and also expressed the actor’s condolences to the bereaved family for the tragic loss.
According to the statement, the team was “unclear about the extent of damage from the accident” as they were also attending to Lil Win, his manager and bouncer, who suffered life-threatening injuries from the accident.
“As much as we are saddened and traumatized, we find unwarranted allegations of neglect on our part, as speculated by some commentators, very distasteful and disturbing at this troubling time,” it stated.
The statement expressed gratitude to the medical staff of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for their care and support of the victims of the accident, while hoping that a police investigation would establish the facts of the matter.
Meanwhile, the manager of Lil Win, Ray Money, has yet to fully recover from the accident, while Lil Win’s security guard has been processed for a surgical review.
