The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has revealed that Ghana’s Covid-19 case count continues to be on the increase even though the death rates have slowed in the past few days.
The latest update on Covid-19 released by the GHS on its website on Thursday, June 4, indicates that so far the cumulative number of cases recorded is 8,885.
3,189, out of this number, have recovered while 38 have lost their lives to the Covid-19,leaving Ghana’s active cases at 5,658.
However, two Covid-19 patients are in critical conditions while nine’s are said to be severe. These patients are receiving treatment at major centres such as the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), the Ga East Municipal Hospital, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital, where two are on admission.
The tally of the Greater Accra Region is made up of about 69 per cent of the total case count.
The capital region has recorded a total of 6,102 cases since Thursday, March 12, when the first two cases were recorded.
Ashanti Region is next with 1,452 cases.
