Al Ahly is expected to receive $4m for clinching a record 11th CAF Champions League title after securing a late 1-1 draw with Wydad Casablanca at the Mohammed V Stadium.
The Egyptian giants won the first leg 2-1 in Cairo which meant they won the tie 3-2 on aggregate to end the Casablanca curse.
The prize money has been increased to $4 million for the champions, almost double last year’s $2.5m.
Second-placed Wydad Casablanca will earn $2m, while both Espérance and Mamelodi Sundowns will bag $1.2m after getting knocked out in the semi-finals.
