BROTHERS: Tonight (WEDNESDAY 25TH) On Episode 177

Date:

“What’s this? Where did you get this fish? You should never take something that’s not yours. That’s not salt or sugar. Those are drugs!”

Cardo scolds Isabel for the trouble she almost got herself into. The Isabel spouts her usual appalling nonsense we all don’t listen to. Meanwhile, Delfin has a talk with his sister over the phone, fearing that Cardo could end up like his late twin brother if he doesn’t act. Flora counsels him against giving in into Carreon’s wish.

Makmak lectures Pacquito over his crush on Alyana. Alyana is troubled since she’s been unable to reach Cardo. Once she comes over, Pacquito brings up the woman who had come looking for Cardo the other day. Later, Alyana talks to her parents on phone and considers leaving for home.

Delfin indulges treacherous Carreon as he offers some lame-ass apology over the stunt he had pulled at the meeting earlier with the chief. Taking his sister’s word into consideration, Delfin fools the traitor into believing that he would cooperate and reveal Cardo’s location to him once he gets the info.

Joaquin the jackass and his lapdogs are going on about how Delfin would never reveal Cardo’s location. Fidel is eager for some bloodshed. While the Arevalo couple worry about their daughter back home, Cardo tries calling Alyana but she ignores him so he sends her a message instead. He then informs Ramil and Julian of Isabel blackmailing him.

“You need to think of something quick,” Ramil urges. “Or that woman will ruin everything we’ve been working for.”

Flora finds Alyana brooding and resorts to explaining Cardo’s situation to her. Alyana’s somewhat at peace now and she thanks her for telling her. Meanwhile, Delfin meets up with Jerome, glad he hadn’t told Carreon about Cardo’s whereabouts since they don’t know which high-ranking official could be helping Joaquin the jackass.

As Romano discusses business with Joaquin, Verna sets out to make sure her wretched son doesn’t return to Cebu by making sure Romano is caught red-handed. The slutty witch Isabel blackmails Cardo again as he makes ready to leave for home. Upon arriving home, Alyana gives him the cold shoulder and he promises to make it up to her.

Verna, the despicable mother of the year meets up with treacherous Carreon and hands him a document to “help” with the CIDG’s campaign against illegal drugs. Roy plays dumb, asking how the information could help with their campaign and Verna mentions that Romano is a drug lord in Cebu.

“How did you come by this information?” Carreon asks.

“From my husband’s files,” Verna replies lamely. “I stumbled on that. And I learned from that document that Romano Recio has done some business with my late husband.” (Oh, really? What about your wretched son?)

Carreon nods his head and just like all of us, he pretends to be fooled. “Do you have of those transaction records?”

“Just believe me. That person is a drug lord. You’ll know soon enough if you investigate.” (What about your wretched son?!)

“Does Joaquin know about any of this.”

“No, no,” despicable mother says quickly. “I don’t want to put him in danger because Romano Recio might go after him. Please, don’t tell him anything about this.” (Classic. Unbelievable).

Carreon makes a face as if to say, who’s the idiot now?

“I just want him to be safe,” Verna adds desperately.

“You have my word,” Carreon assures. “I won’t mention anything to Joaquin.” (You’re a terrible liar!)

Treacherous Carreon has met up with Jacob and Joaquin the jackass just like we all anticipated. The jackass is whining over the stunt his dear mother had tried to pull. Jacob asks if his despicable mother would really turn him in and Carreon explains that the poor woman only wants to keep her wretched son away from Romano and his group.

“That will not happen,” Joaquin declares. “…what I want is Cardo and where he’s hiding.”

“We will be monitoring Alyana’s parents,” Jacob says. “Is that still on?”

“Yes, but I advice against it, Joaquin,” Carreon chimes in. “Let’s learn from our past mistakes – we already threatened Alyana before, even Elmo and Yolly, but we got nothing. I strongly recommend that we leave Alyana’s parents out of the whole equation.”

The trouble in paradise seems to be easing up as Cardo decides to spend the entire day home to make it up to Alyana. As Cardo romances her, Pacquito looks on angrily and Onyok warns him against doing anything stupid. Pacquito whines over Cardo having gotten both the slutty witch and Alyana as well. (Oh, God. When did kids start getting jealous? This is so wrong).

Joaquin the jackass asks Romano to put things in place so they don’t run into any trouble once he sets foot in Cebu. They then begin arguing over the money to be shared, with the jackass insisting that Romano have only 40%. Later, Ramil informs Cardo about the falling out between Romano and Joaquin the jackass. He worries about Cardo’s plans being in jeopardy since the deal with the Chinese might not go through.

Pacquito steals fish to impress miss pretty

Verna is enjoying a meal when her wretched son shows up on account of her invitation. She begins rambling some nonsense we don’t pay attention to. Jackass replies with some nonsense of his own before confronting her over how she had tried to turn Romano in. Their foolish drama and argument drags on mercilessly and we all react by turning down the volume of our TVs.

While Cardo discusses his work with his grandma, going on about how he can’t quit because his boss needs and trusts him, the scumbags who smuggle drugs through the sale of fish send Pacquito and Onyok to make some deliveries. Meanwhile, the Ignacios arrive home and make ready to make dinner.

“You don’t have to,” Alayna says to Cora. “Because Cardo told me earlier that he was planning to make dinner for us.”

“But he’s been working here all day,” Amado points out. “Now he’s cooking dinner too?”

“That’s great,” Cora cuts in. “Not a lot of guys out there would even bother going into the kitchen after a long day of working. You’re so lucky to have Cardo, Alyana. It’s like you hit the jackpot.”

“You clearly have no reason to doubt Cardo now,” Flora says. “He loves and cares for you. And he would never hurt or do you wrong.”

“That’s right, Alyana,” Amado adds. “He’s a good boy. Like I am.”

Onyok and Pacquito bring Cardo the money they had earned for the day from selling plastic bags and delivering the fish for some vendors at the marketplace. They decide to buy some stuff for Alyana and Cardo but Cardo asks them to save up the money for themselves.

Pacquito brings his share to Paco his father who is glad and hopeful of saving up enough money to send his son to school. Paco and his son join Cardo and everyone else for dinner. At the mansion, the slutty witch Isabel takes a critical look at a record of the money sitting in her account while Romano is quiet busy sleeping.

“Just a little more, and I can finally leave this place for good,” the slutty witch thinks to herself. “The money I’ve saved up will be more than enough for me and Sally. I can finally start a new life and hopefully, build my future and my own family with Cardo by my side.” (God, is this girl dreaming or is she just high on drugs?).

Pacquito plucks a little white flower and slips it into some chocolates which he gladly hands to Alyana, his miss pretty. After bidding her goodnight, Alyana sends him off with a peck. The little boy seems transfixed and overwhelmed as he carries on. Soon enough, Cardo shows up and notices the gift and Alyana reveals where it had come from. Pacquito spies.

“That’s nice of him to give a lot,” Cardo says. “May I have some?”

“Yeah, sure.”

Cardo digs in and finds the tiny white flower. “What’s this?” Without waiting for an answer, he throws it away as Pacquito sulks silently from his hiding spot. (We’re in trouble. When did kids start being girlfriend snatchers?)

The slutty witch Isabel is unable to reach Cardo on phone and thus, begins throwing a childish tantrum. The next morning, Pacquito tries to buy a fish in an attempt to impress miss pretty. He’s however shooed away by the fish vendor and he eventually resorts to stealing and running off with one.

“I wonder how miss pretty likes her fish,” Pacquito says to himself. “Does she like it fried or grilled?” (Toasted. She likes it toasted).

Pacquito arrives home and once his father gets his hands on the fish, he insists on making a dish with it. Pacquito sulks. In no time, Paco brings his specialty which he had made with the fish to the dining table and Flora begins to cut it up. Makmak takes note of something in the fish.

“What’s that? I can see some salt. Or is it sugar?”

Cardo looks on. Meanwhile, the fish vendor is roughed up by some goons for delivering 14 fish instead of 15. As they question him about the whereabouts of the one, Cardo tastes the content of the packet, then spits out.

“What is it?” Flora asks.

“Paco,” Cardo begins. “Where did you get this fish?”

“Pacquito brought it home earlier.”

Cardo redirects his attention. “Pacquito, where did you get the fish from?”

“Well, idol… it’s from the guys who paid me and Onyok to deliver fish for them.”

Onyok is in disbelief. “So you got this from the fish we were supposed to deliver to the buyers?”

“You should never take something that’s not yours,” Cardo says to Pacquito. “It’s bad. You understand?”

“I’m sorry, idol. I just wanted to give this to miss pretty.”

Alyana is speechless.

“Hold on, Cardo,” Paco says. “What’s that?”

“That’s not salt or sugar. Those are drugs!”

“What?!” the kids chorus.

The goons bring the fish vendor to their boss who holds him at gunpoint in an attempt to squeeze from him what he had done with his stuff. The vendor insinuates that it could be one of the kids they had hired to deliver the goods to their clients.

“Where is the kid now?” asks the boss.

“The kid lives just near the marketplace.”

“Find the kid. And make sure you get all the drug packets from him.”
