Former Black Stars and Chelsea FC midfielder, Michael Essien has advised young talents to be humble, respectful, and hardworking.
Essein, 41, is currently with Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjælland as part of its coaching staff while also helping develop talents as an individual player coach in the academy.
In an interview dubbed “Michael Essien unfiltered: How this football icon is montoring the next-gen,” with a couple of young players at the club, he stated that for a youngster to be successful, he would need to be humble, respectful, and hardworking.
“The very first thing I would say is to stay humble, be respectful, and also put in the hard work,” he said.
French starlet, Rocco Ascone recounted how the former Liberty Professionals star made him feel at home since joining the side.
‘The Bison’, as he is popularly known, attributed his humility to the kind of upbringing he got from his mother, growing up, and believing that becoming a star never changed his personality.
