Former Black Stars defender Sammy Kuffuor has commended his former Bayern Munich teammate, Lothar Mathäus for deciding to invest in the BetPawa Premier League side, Accra Lions.
On Tuesday, May 23, Accra Lions Football Club announced in a grand event at the Kempinski Hotel, the partnership with the German Legend.
Speaking at the German Embassy’s Sundowner held in honour of the World Cup winner, the former Torino player said, “There are so many opportunities that they could go to any other country [but] they chose Ghana. That tells you there is something here that we have to take care of.”
Accra Lions lie seventh in the Ghana Premier League, with three games remaining.
