Black Stars Abroad: Abagna, Mumin, Cudjoe score over the weekend

Date:

Former Real Tamale United captain David Abagna’s fine form in the 2024-25 Cypriot First Division continues, scoring his first goal of the season against Enosis Neon.

The Ghanaian scored APOEL Nicosia’s first of the game in the 13th minute, followed by Anastasios Donis’ strike to seal a crucial win for the home side.

In the Israeli Premier League, Mathew Cudjoe’s goal helped Beni Sakhnin end a losing streak, as they drew 1-1 with Maccabi Petach-Tikva.

Black Stars defender Abdul Mumin was stupendous in Rayo Vallecano’s dramatic 3-3 home draw with Spanish champions Real Madrid on Saturday.

Mumin headed Rayo into a 2-0 lead in the 36th minute not long before Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham brought Real level.

Rodrygo’s stunner in the second half looked to have been setting up a victory for Real Madrid before Rayo captain Isi Palazon helped his side to claim a point at the end of the game.
