The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has communicated to Asante Kotoko about the unfitness of the Baba Yara Stadium to host their continental games.
Asante Kotoko hoped to have their CAF Confederation home games hosted on their traditional grounds, the Baba Yara Stadium, when the qualifiers begins.
The Porcupine Warriors overcame Golden Kicks FC in the final of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup final to secure their ticket to the qualifying round of the Confederation Cup.
CAF cited the following to be addressed before the preferred venue could receive the “go-ahead” for the games;
1. Pitch Upgrade
2. Safety Zone
3. Dugout
4. Enhanced Media Stands
5. CCTV Installation
6. Scoreboard
The National Sports Authority, led by Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, is now tasked to ensure the pin-pointed issues about the biggest stadium in the Ashanti Region are resolved to enable Kotoko receive the backing of their fans at the home grounds.
