Baba Alhassan has trained with the Ugandan national team for the first time following his nationality switch.
Born Ghanaian, the Steaua Bucaresti player Cranes was called up for the international friendlies against Chad and Morocco in November.
Despite being eligible to play for Ghana, Alhassan decided to play for Uganda due to his mother’s heritage.
He joined his new teammates for training at the Lonari Sports Club on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
The 25-year-old could make his debut for the East Africans in the game against Chad on November 14 before facing AFCON hosts four days later.
Meanwhile, Uganda are also preparing for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they will face Tunisia, Tanzania, and Nigeria in Group C.
Alhassan has had a decent start to the new season in Europe, making 10 league appearances and having an assist to his credit in Romania.
