Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, the Minister of State-designate for Public Sector Reforms has expressed determination to empower young women in the ministry.
The Minister of State-designate for Public Sector Reforms went through vetting on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Parliament House by the Appointments Committee.
She was very vocal and passionate in her delivery about helping to train young and purpose-driven women in the ministry, should she be approved by the Appointments Committee.
“I’m going to monitor young ladies in that ministry to become what they themselves aspire to be and to encourage them. In the old English language, they will say, the sky is the limit, but to me, there is something beyond the sky that you can go, and I will tell them to,” she said.
Akanvariba also pledged to strengthen the digital systems especially, in the Financial Management Information System.
“I do believe digitalisation is the way to go. Some work has been done on the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System, and the current payment system, but that is not enough,” she added.
