Socialite Ahuofe Patri has expressed concern about how Papaye Fast Food swept under the carpet a scam attempt after she ordered food from the company.
According to her, she was scammed an amount worth Gh¢70 when she ordered food at Frafraha while on set.
In a recent Snap story that she posted on January 14, 2025, the “boyskasa” actress said she paid Gh¢70 for the food but never received it.
The actress disclosed that while on set at Dodowa, she decided to order food from Papaye during her lunch break.
“The restaurant was close by, but I didn’t want to risk leaving the set and disrupting the schedule, so I decided to order delivery instead,” she recounted.
While searching online for Papaye’s contact information to make the delivery, she came across a contact who represented the restaurant at the Frafraha branch where she was ordering the food.
“I googled Papaye and put in the location that was Frafraha. I mentioned this so you guys could be on the lookout. They said I had to pay so I paid the Gh¢70.”
“After paying the gentleman was like, he is going to send me a code and the code he sent, in the message it says do not share with anybody and now he calls and asks for the code.”
“I told them I wasn’t comfortable giving out the code, but they insisted it was necessary to complete the transaction,” she narrated.
After sending the payment, she received a code via SMS with instructions not to share it with anyone.
Shortly afterwards, she received another call demanding the code but trusting her instincts about what was going on, she refused to provide the code and hung up the call.
“Right after I cut the call, I got a message that I have sent 15 cedis worth of airtime to somebody a few minutes later, I got another message asking me to authorize Gh¢300 and I didn’t and then I got another message that my SIM has been blocked because I put several wrong codes,” she added.
Despite her ordeal and realizing she was scammed, Ahuofe Patri drove to the restaurant to purchase the food and inform the company of what had transpired.
However, she was shocked by the response she received when she raised her concerns.
Ahuofe Patri claimed that the restaurant showed no concern, although it was aware some unscrupulous persons scammed customers in the name of representing the company.
“I told the staff what had happened, and they informed me that other customers had also been scammed. But what shocked me the most was that they were unconcerned; they didn’t offer any help, they didn’t offer to speak to me, nothing,” she lamented.
The actress urged Papaye to address the situation to prevent others from falling as victims.
