#AfricanGames2023: Black Satellites bounce back in style

Date:

Coach Desmond Offei and his boys, the Black Satellites of Ghana, have responded to the disappointing opening goalless draw with Congo on Friday, March 8, 2024, with a commanding 3-1 victory over The Gambia.

Dreams FC forward Musibau Aziz atoned for his misses in the first game by scoring the opener after 12 minutes of the first half, giving the Satellites control of the game going into halftime.

Abdul Aziz Issah doubled Ghana’s lead four minutes into the second half before Ebrimah Ceesay pulled one back for The Gambia after Musibau missed a penalty in the 75th minute.

Jerry Afriyie sealed Ghana’s first win of the men’s football event of the 13th African Games with a stoppage time goal to finish the game 3-1 in favor of the hosts.

The Ghanaians will take on Benin next as they look to book a place in the semi-finals.
