ACCRA 2023: It’s a palpable lie – Dan Kweku Yeboah refutes false reports (VIDEO)

Date:

Reports claiming that the 13th African Games in Accra, 2023, had been postponed indefinitely have been refuted by Dan Kweku Yeboah, the event’s spokesperson.

The Executive Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) issued a press release on Wednesday, November 22, stating the “13th African Games, Accra 2023, are on course, and the Games will be held in Accra from the 8th to the 23rd of March, 2024.”

“We saw reports circulating on social media that Accra 2023 has been postponed indefinitely. We were shocked when we saw it because we were meeting with the minister of sports to create awareness for the game. So our communication came together to assure Ghanaians that games will come on.”

Contractors announced in October that 87% of the construction at the Borteyman Sports Complex had been completed in time for the 2023 Africa Games.

The inspectors also evaluated the Legon facility, which looked far from finished. Other areas, like the media tribune and director’s box, are still unfinished, while the tracks for the stadium and warm-up field have not yet been constructed.
