Multiple award-winning dancehall musician Stonebwoy has expressed regret for the incident leading to the cancellation of colleague Shatta Wale’s UK concert, ShattaFest.
The event had multiple casualties following a stampede outside the event venue in London.
It was reported that patrons’ lives were put at risk as the event venue had only one entry point, leading to its cancellation by management and organisers.
In an X post on August 1, 2026, to express his sympathy for his colleague, Stonebwoy said the incident was tragic and something any artiste wouldn’t want his or her fans to experience during a show.
“This is definitely not the kind of news any event organiser, artist, fan, or promoter of the Ghana music agenda wants to hear. Our hearts go out to all those affected,” he wrote.
His reaction comes after Shatta Wale’s management confirmed that ShattaFest UK had been cancelled following a serious incident outside the venue.
According to reports, police stopped the event at Copthall Playing Fields after severe overcrowding at one of the entrances led to a crowd crush.
Several people were reportedly injured during the incident.
