The Greater Accra Regional Minister Hon. Linda Ocloo has issued an unqualified apology for her utterances regarding municipal and district chief executive postings.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, during the ongoing demolition exercise at the Golf Course section of the Sakumo Ramsar Site, he made remarks that have angered several people, especially northerners.
According to Hon. Ocloo, officers who issued illegal permits have been transferred up north as punishment, painting the picture of the north being a place of suffering.
She claimed in her statement of apology that her words in the viral interview she granted were “a genuine slip in communication” and do not represent her views on the good people of the north.
Her apology came after widespread criticisms from netizens. For instance, Abdl Abu Med on Facebook said her assertion of the north being a dumping ground is an insult to the pride of the people.
