Unconfirmed reports circulating in the sports world indicate Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil has been relieved of his duty.

In March 2024, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) appointed the Ghana legend as an assistant to former head coach Otto Addo ahead of the country’s 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Many experts in the football industry had been critical of Paintsil’s inclusion in the Black Stars technical team.

Now with the recent appointment of Portuguese gaffer Carlos Queiroz, Paintsil has become the latest to be axed.

The GFA is yet to comment on the reports.
