‎Ghana can win Grammys if we unite our artists— Rocky Dawuni

Date:

Legendary reggae musician Rocky Dawuni has disclosed that many young artists are not gaining Grammy awards due to how the industry has failed to bring their great arts together on one platform to promote them.

‎According to him, for the local musicians to be recognised internationally, the country needs to do thorough homework to unite their big arts for the greatest reward.

‎Speaking in an interview with Max Drive on Max 89.7 FM in Accra on Thursday, the “I Got A Song” crooner expressed the need for promoters to make both young and old artists perform on one stage during festivals.

‎”Have you ever seen a festival where you find me, Kojo Antwi, Amakye Dede, Samini, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy all together on one stage before? Have you ever seen it? Why is Ghana not doing that? Why are our promoters not doing that?” he queried.

‎For the artist to gain Grammys, Rocky Dawuni underscored the need for the country to place value on its artists.

‎”Bring artists in their own dimension impacted so much, and then putting them together as a resource to show Ghana. Why are we not doing that? But we go and we play all around the world.

‎How do we get Grammys? Meanwhile, we are not seeing the value of whatever we have here to create the industry here while we have all the pieces,” he added.
