Ghana Can’t Depend On Other Scores — Asamoah Gyan

Date:

Former Ghanaian international Asamoah Gyan reveals the Black Stars of Ghana are not concerned about the results of the other fixtures in their group.

Ghana is just a game away from booking her place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a resounding 0-5 away win over the Central African Republic on Wednesday.

A win or draw is needed in the final game against Comoros in Accra on Sunday, October 12, 2025, for the Black Stars to seal qualification.

This would be an unprecedented feet for coach Otto Addo, becoming the only coach in Ghana’s history to qualify her for two consecutive FIFA World Cup.

“For us we are not thinking about those. We have to be more consistent. The consistency is very important. Winning during international break is what we want… You cannot depend on somebody’s scoreline to determine whether we are going to the World Cup or not,” Gyan said to Ghone.

The well-respected former Ghana captain has been involved with the Black Stars’ preparations in the African qualifiers of the World Cup, serving as a source of inspiration to the squad.
