Female singers are seen as waste of resources— Xheila

Date:

Xheila, the daughter of legendary musician Nana Acheampong, has expressed worry about the manner in which investors are reluctant to support female musicians.

According to her, various investors have ascribed to the belief that investing in female singers is a waste of resources.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Tuesday, Xheila indicated that the belief had coiled many talented women into their shells, and they were unwilling to unveil their talents.

“People are reluctant to invest in us. They always assert that women are expensive and that you will waste resources without gaining anything in return. They claim women’s emotions can’t be controlled, they can get pregnant, and the worst aspect is women lose focus when they start to date or get married,” she lamented.

Xheila maintained that such belief was fallacious and it always portrayed women as unserious beings; thus, she expressed the need for such a mindset to be brushed out for women to gain the necessary support to propel them in the industry.

Known in real life as Sheila Acheampong, she is the sister of songbird Gyakie and she is poised to continue the legacy of her father in the current industry.
