Musicians not exploiting profitable avenues to market their music— Kojo Kinn

Date:

Budding musician who doubles as entertainment critic, Kojo Kinn has disclosed that lots of musicians in the country are not exploiting other profitable avenues to market their music.‎

That, he noted, has rendered them poor and is making music unprofitable to them.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Wednesday, Kojo Kinn explained that many musicians were not even aware of those avenues.

“Here we don’t have the avenues and ways to make music profitable. We are not exploiting a lot of them,” he said.

Kojo Kinn observed that many musicians were not even engaging publishers to market their music after the release of a song.

“Because we don’t exploit other aspects of the business, we are not making relevant profits from music. Musicians are not engaging publishers to make commercial use of the song. How many musicians are making use of publishers to make money?” he quizzed.

Aside from publishers who would sync the music to exploit channels to market music, Kojo Kinn also stated that there were lots of avenues, like selling off musical catalogues, to make money from music.
