CAF vice president Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku is expected to remain at post as president of the Ghana Football Association for a third term after 2027.
Following FIFA’s approval for the proposal to extend the presidency tenure to a third term, 114 delegates approved his bid for a stay in office at the 31st Ordinary Session Congress should he win the 2027 elections.
This echoes the backing he has from the various clubs and their representatives after being impressed by his performance so far since assuming post in 2019.
A third term in office for Mr Okraku, according to a majority of delegates, will ensure the continuity and elevation of football in Ghana, whereas a smaller section believes it sets a bad precedent.
