Kennedy Boakye Ansah has thrown his weight behind the current president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, to go for a third term.
The GFA announced over the weekend that FIFA approved a proposal for a three-term tenure for the presidency — meaning Mr Okraku could remain at the helm of affairs after 2027.
Mr Boakye Ansah, a seasoned media practitioner and presently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Premier League (GPL) club Nations FC, confirmed on Max FM’s Sports Pack show that Mr Okraku deserves to go for a third term.
His stance was echoed by the CEO of Techiman Eleven Wise, Mr Stephen Puro, who commended Mr Okraku, who doubles as the 2nd vice president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), for his initiatives for Ghanaian football in his two terms so far.
Delegates are set to meet at the GFA Congress on August 12 to deliberate on whether or not to approve the bid for the presidency to be extended to a third term.
