The Chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG), Mr George Saija, has strongly refuted claims his outfit endorsed Kurt Okraku’s bid for a third term in office.
Mr Saija, whose relationship with the Ghana Football Association, GFA has not been rosy, especially with the GFA still owing member referees of RAG.
He responded to the viral interview granted by the General Secretary of the GFA, Mr Prosper Harrison Addo Esq., on Monday, August 4, 2025, stating clubs, RAG, and other relevant football bodies proposed a third term for the GFA presidency.
“The Referees Association of Ghana never met as a council to discuss a presidency third-term proposal… We never endorsed it!” He said vehemently on Max FM’s Sports Pack show.
He dared the General Secretary to provide evidence and publicise that his outfit indeed agreed to the said proposal, insisting, “We are not sellouts!” As he dissociates the RAG from the controversial proposal.
