The stage is all set for the Group D fixtures of the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN.
Nigeria will tackle defending champions, Senegal in their CHAN opener on Tuesday evening, while Congo will take on Sudan.
The 19-team tournament is taking place in five venues in four cities spread across three co-hosting countries namely: Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Nigeria qualified for the 2024 CHAN via WAFU Zone B after playing a 0-0 away draw with Ghana, then won 3-1 at home (3-1 on aggregate).
Senegal qualified via WAFU Zone A after playing a 1-1 away draw to Liberia and won 3-0 at home (4-1 on aggregate).
Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan qualified through the CECAFA Zone, winning 1-0 at home and losing 1-0 away to Tanzania, before they triumphed 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate draw.
The biggest game of the day Nigeria v. Senegal comes off at 5 pm after Sudan’s clash with Congo at 2 pm.
