The Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has shared the ambitions of the Black Satellites of Ghana.
A win for the Ghana men’s national under-20 football team will secure qualification for the next semi-final of the 2025 WAFU B U-20 Boys Cup.
With only three teams in Group A, including host country Ghana, Nigeria, and Benin, there is a huge scramble for the second ticket of the group after Nigeria already booked theirs courtesy of a comeback win over Benin.
Speaking ahead of the crucial game on Wednesday afternoon, Mr Asante Twum, though entertaining the idea of Ghana pulling off a host and win, opined it will not come on a silver platter.
“Yes! Our aim is to host and win, but I don’t think it will come from being lazy or lackadaisical. It will not be on a silver platter; we have to fight for it,” he said.
Ghana may face Ivory Coast in the semi-final should they fail to end Group A with a draw or win over Benin.
