NSA commends Abetifi MP; calls for more investment

Date:

The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has commended Hon. Dr Bryan Acheampong for his philanthropic initiative.

Member of Parliament for the Abetifi constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Acheampong, had engaged the Middle Belt Authority at the start of 2025 to offer financial support after it stalled due to budgetary challenges when the project first began in 2020.

Despite the NSA’s intervention by requisitioning relevant and necessary documentation, Mr Ampofo Ankrah lauded the MP, calling on corporate Ghana and local or foreign investors to help in the development of the various stadia across the country.

“Hon. Bryan Acheampong intends to support Okwahu United with the construction of the sports stadium — presenting the relevant documents, he can go ahead,” he said.

“It’s a good initiative and intervention. We encourage citizens and corporate Ghana, individuals, and investors (local and foreign) to come on board and support us in this quest,” he added.

Mr Ampofo Ankrah stressed further the need for available funding to address significant challenges facing the Koforidua, Essipong, and Aliu Mahama Stadia.
