FC Barcelona have confirmed they will return to the Spotify Camp Nou on August 10 to host the Joan Gamper Trophy, their traditional preseason opener.
This marks a highly anticipated comeback after over two years away due to major renovation works.
Since mid-2023, Barça have played home matches at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium while extensive construction transformed their iconic venue. The team last played at Camp Nou in May 2023.
Although the stadium remains under renovation, Barcelona plans to host matches at a reduced capacity of 50,000 to 60,000 spectators for the 2025/26 season, after opening the LaLiga campaign with three away games.
“This comeback represents a historic moment for the Club and its supporters,” FC Barcelona said in a statement. “Barça will once again feel the thrill of football in its legendary temple, taking a symbolic step into a new era.”
Work on the stadium has accelerated, with 3,300 workers on-site and round-the-clock operations approved by the Barcelona City Council. The full renovation—including a new third tier, VIP areas, roof, and surrounding urban development—is expected to be completed by June 2026.
