2025 GOC ELECTIONS: GFA Gen Sec Misses Out on Board

Date:

Ghana Football Association (GFA) General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo’s bid to serve on the Executive Board of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) ended in disappointment following Saturday’s elections.

Addo polled 28 votes, falling short in the competitive race for the available slots. The successful candidates were George Lamptey (34 votes), Delphina Quaye (53 votes), Kamal Sulley (50 votes), George Tettey (40 votes), and Richmond Quarcoo (46 votes), who will now serve on the Executive Board.

The structure of the GOC Board allows representation from Olympic Sports (5 slots), Non-Olympic Sports (1 slot), Affiliate Bodies (1 slot), and three Co-opted Members. Prosper Addo’s loss means football — Ghana’s most popular sport — will not have direct representation on the GOC Board for the new term.

The newly elected GOC leadership, led by a re-elected President, has promised greater collaboration across all sports federations, emphasizing unity and inclusivity during the next four-year cycle.
