CAF Schools Championship: Ghana Beats Uganda 2-0 in 2025 Opener

Date:

CAF Schools Championship action is officially underway, and Ghana has made a bold statement. In their tournament opener, Ghana defeated Uganda 2-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium, thrilling fans and setting the pace for the rest of the competition.

The game started with fireworks as Ghana scored just three minutes into play, thanks to a confident strike from forward John Andor. He later doubled the lead with another clinical finish, securing all three points for the home side in the prestigious CAF Schools Championship.

Ghana’s midfield was sharp and dominant, while their defense held firm to deny Uganda any meaningful chances. The team’s chemistry was evident throughout the match, especially during their fast-paced transitions and disciplined play.

Uganda, though determined, couldn’t find a way through Ghana’s defense. They will be looking to regroup quickly ahead of their next group stage fixture.

This win places Ghana at the top of their group early in the CAF Schools Championship, and all eyes will be on Ghana as they continue their group stage campaign against South Africa at 11:00 am on Thursday, before facing Algeria at 3:00 pm later in the day to wrap up the group phase.

With John Andor already emerging as one of the standout players of the tournament, fans are hopeful that Ghana can ride this momentum all the way to the final.
