Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey has been officially appointed as the Acting Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd (CBG).
The announcement was made through a letter dated March 26, 2025, signed by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson on behalf of President John Mahama.
The letter, addressed to the Board Chairman of CBG, also named Ms. Shiela Azuntaba as Acting Deputy Managing Director. Both appointments take effect from March 26, 2025. The Board has been directed to formalize the appointments in line with the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and the bank’s constitution.
Naomi Wolali Kwetey, wife of NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, is a distinguished banking professional with over two decades of experience spanning corporate banking, treasury, credit, and strategic management.
She has held senior leadership roles at Ecobank Ghana and the former Trust Bank, later acquired by Ecobank in 2011. Her roles have included:
- Treasurer
- Head of Financial Institutions and Markets
- Deputy Head of Credit Administration
- Business Manager for Financial Institutions and International Organisations
- Head of Customer Experience for Ecobank Ghana and later for five West African countries.
Dr. Kwetey is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB) and a certified Chartered Dealer (ACI). She is widely respected as a turnaround leader with deep expertise in supervisory control and sustainable banking growth.
Her academic credentials include a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), a Master of Arts in Business and International Banking and Finance, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
