Parliament Approves Deputy Ministers for Key Sectors

Parliament has approved the appointment of John Dumelo, Clement Apaak, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, and Samson Ahi as deputy ministers to strengthen key government sectors.

  • John Dumelo – Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture
  • Clement Apaak – Deputy Minister for Education
  • Thomas Ampem Nyarko – Deputy Minister for Finance
  • Samson Ahi – Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry

Their approval follows a vetting process where they outlined their visions for their respective ministries.

Profiles of Appointed Ministers

John Dumelo (Food & Agriculture)
The actor, entrepreneur, and politician will focus on agribusiness development and farmer-support initiatives to boost food production.

Clement Apaak (Education)
A strong advocate for education and MP for Builsa South, Dr. Apaak is expected to drive policies that enhance Ghana’s education system.

Thomas Ampem Nyarko (Finance)
The MP for Asuogyaman will assist in economic policy formulation, budget planning, and financial strategy implementation.

Samson Ahi (Trade, Agribusiness & Industry)
A seasoned politician and MP for Bodi, Ahi will focus on trade policy, industrial growth, and agribusiness expansion.

Parliament also confirmed additional appointments, including:

  • Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi – Deputy Minister for the Interior
  • Richard Gyan-Mensah – Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition
  • Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba – Minister of State, Public Sector Reforms
