The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Sam Nartey George, has come under fire over recent comments at ministerial vetting.
Sam ‘Dzata’ George, member of parliament for Ningo Prampram, appeared before the Appointment Committee of the Parliament House on the evening of Thursday, January 30, 2025.
He was questioned by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee and ranking member of the minority in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo Markin, if he had ever been a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), to which he replied, “I’ve never been a TESCON member.”
Following the vetting, an image of Sam George at a TESCON/NPP event where the late former Vice President of Ghana, Aliu Mahama, was captured in the background addressing a crowd has gone viral.
A faction of social media commentators inclined to the opposition party, NPP, are accusing Sam George of committing perjury.
Sam George is yet to comment on the current developments.
