Man, 20, pleads not guilty to robbing Jay Foley

A driver has pleaded not guilty to stealing mobile phones belonging to a popular Ghanaian journalist and two others.

The accused, 20-year-old Kwabena Gyimah, aka “69,” appeared before an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Judge Samuel Acquah after he was arrested by police.

He was seen in a CCTV footage entering the premises of John Foley, popularly known as Jay Foley, a journalist, to commit his act.

Gyimah faces three counts of unlawful entry and three counts of stealing.

Aside from being granted bail in the amount of GHC 50,000 with three sureties, he is supposed to report to the police weekly.

Gyimah, together with his accomplice, “Coded,” who is at large, also stole from Andy Ababio, a banker, and Vida Akwei Naadude, all reside in Community 17, Sakumono, with Jay Foley.

The case has been adjourned to February 4, 2025.
