Sheikh Tophic calls out UNGRATEFUL Division One clubs

Date:

Days after the Black Stars of Ghana sadly failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) handed coaster buses to nine Division One clubs.

This move, according to the GFA, is to solve a pressing problem in the football ecosystem, especially in lower-tier levels.

Kurt Okraku, president of the GFA, said during the presentation that this was to enhance the welfare of players and staff.

Speaking in an interview on the Sports Pack show on Max FM, Sheikh Tophic Sienu, the Communications Manager at the GFA, chided ungrateful clubs that called out his outfit for the state of the buses presented to them at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“The FA has given you boots, balls, GHS 15K fuel, and buses. You complain of torn seats; of course the FA should’ve done due diligence before giving the buses out. The videos of the buses were when they were at the workshop. They waited to release those videos after giving out the buses,” he said to Nana Darkwah Gyasi.

Quoting the Prophet Mohammed, Sheik Tophic suggested the said clubs have been ungrateful to the leadership of GFA.

“The Prophet Mohammed said that he who does not appreciate the efforts of man does not appreciate the kindness of Allah,” he said after comparing the situation to when he bought the car he drives before joining the GFA, which he claimed is an “accident car.”

The viral visuals of the state of the buses sparked a public outrage, especially fresh from the Black Stars pitiful 2025 AFCON qualifiers campaign.

Despite the backlash, Sheik Tophic assures the GFA remains committed to turning things around in the coming year.
