Medeama SC have mutually parted ways with head coach Nebojsa Kapor following their disappointing 3-2 defeat to Vision FC on Saturday in Tema.
The Bosnian coach, who had signed a one-year contract with the club in December 2023, departs after both sides were unable to reach an agreement on a contract extension. Despite a promising start to the season, Medeama’s performance has been marked by inconsistency, prompting the decision to part ways with the coach.
Kapor’s tenure at the club saw Medeama, one of the pre-season favorites in the Ghana Premier League, struggle to find their rhythm. Currently, the Mauves and Yellows sit just three points off the top of the table, with 21 points from 13 matches, having won six, lost four, and drawn three. While still within striking distance of the league leaders, their failure to string together consistent results ultimately led to the split.
As the club looks ahead to the remainder of the season, Medeama is yet to announce a replacement for Kapor. The management will be keen to bring in a new coach to steer the team back on track and fulfill their title aspirations.
