#MaxNews: GCB PLC donates food items to the Chief

Date:

Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) Bank Public Limited Company has donated food items and cash of about GH 110,000 to the national chief imam, Sheikh Usmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, towards the Ramadan festivities.

The bank presented 20 bags of rice (100 packs of 5kg), 15 bags of sugar, 15 gallons of oil, 40 packs of dates, and two bags of beans.

The presentation was made at the residence of the National Chief Imam in Accra on Friday, March 22, 2024.

The Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, John Kofi Adomakoh, who led the delegation from the bank, stated that it had become part of the bank’s tradition to support and pay homage to the Chief Imam during the holy month.

According to him, the items presented were the institution’s way of supporting the Chief Imam in fulfilling his duties and seeking blessings from Allah for the staff, management, shareholders, and the company, with the country as the key focus.

Adomakoh noted that GCB staff members were made up of individuals of varied religions, including Islam, and would provide continuous support to the Chief Imam during and after the fasting month.

He added that it was important for Muslims to utilize the time to reflect on the past and envision the future with the guidance of Prophet Mohammed’s teachings.

Adomakoh requested the Chief Imam’s prayers in seeking Allah’s intervention to ensure the appointment of a capable leader to steer the company in its mission.

The Chief Imam expressed gratitude for the bank acknowledging and supporting him in managing his important duties.

Sheikh Sharubutu also prayed for Allah’s blessings on the bank’s staff and its future.
He emphasized that the peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in the country is truly inspiring.

“May peace and tranquility continue to prevail in our nation,” he prayed.
