2024 PARIS OLYMPICS: Freezy Macbones withdraws from qualifiers

Date:

Ghanaian international boxer Freezy Macbones, known in private life as Seth Gyimah, has announced he will not be competing in the qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

In August 2023, the UK-based Ghanaian announced he would be joining the Ghana national boxing team, the Black Bombers, in a bid to qualify for Paris 2024.

However, he lost his middleweight bout to Senegalese boxer Seydou Konate in the qualifiers in Dakar.

Even though he has another chance to secure qualification through the Asia and Europe play-offs later this year, Macbones has decided not to compete but to focus on developing his career as a professional boxer.

In an official statement, the Ghanaian expressed appreciation for the support granted to him and to all the members of the Ghana National Boxing Team.
