GPL UPDATES: GFA bans RTU from using Aliu Mahama Stadium

Date:

Real Tamale United has been temporarily banned by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association from using the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium as its home venue, in accordance with the GFA Premier League Regulations, Article 14(2).

This is due to the ill treatment meted out to the match officials during Medeama’s outstanding game against the ‘Pride of the North’ on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, which ended in a 1-0 win for the home side.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has condemned the actions of the supporters of Real Tamale United, which violate the association’s Safety and Security Regulations, and Premier League Regulations.

The Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama, have branded the action of the Real Tamale United fans as ‘stone-age.
