2026 FIFA WC QUALIFIERS: We will get the victories – Jojo Wollacott

Date:

Scotland-based Ghanaian international goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has assured Ghanaians of victories in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

Despite not being a regular for his club, Hibernian, Wollacott has done enough to warrant a return to the Black Stars.

The Ghanaian goalie said in an interview how good it feels to be back training with the team.

“It feels very good to be back. I was struggling with an injury, but I feel good and happy to be back.”

He also expects a tough qualifying route to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as Ghana will face the likes of the Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Madagascar, and Mali in Group I.

“If you remember the last, it was a difficult journey, and we know what to expect, so we are taking these games very seriously, but I am sure we will get the victories,” he said.

Ghana will kick off the qualifying campaign on Friday, November 17, 2023, against Madagascar at 4 p.m.
