Highlife artist Kwabena Kwabena has expressed the need for musicians to liaise with poets for rich lyrical content in order to bolster their music.
That, he said, would not only give musicians a unique rhyme for their songs but also enhance their lyrical content to appeal to the emotions of music lovers.
Speaking in a media interview, the “Tuamudaa” hitmaker indicated that when poets talents were fully harnessed by stakeholders, composers could produce the melody.
“I must admit, we need to start employing poets—people who can write or put together beautiful English pieces—then we can get composers to actually produce the melody,” he said.
Kwabena Kwabena stated that when musicians collaborate with the necessary stakeholders in the creative space, the music they compose will sound more professional than that of the Americans.
“Musicians should start to appreciate people who have various talents. There are people who are good producers; there are people who are good composers; there are people who write good stories, so when we work with them, the songs we will come out with will sound more professional,” he added.
