Ghanaian gospel sensation Sonnie Badu has expressed the need for all Ghanaians to project rapper Black Sherif for the betterment of the industry.
According to him, that is what Nigerians have done to promote their musicians so they can gain international funding and recognition.
Sonnie Badu noted that Ghana needed growth, and Black Sherif had what it takes to project Ghana and make the industry excel.
“If I’m part of the entertainment fraternity, everybody projects that guy. That’s what Nigerians do, and that is so important now.
“So he has everything it takes to take Ghana to that place at this moment. And let’s not think of the Stonebwoy’s and the Shatta Wale’s and all of that; they didn’t do anything. A building block is not as important as the block in the middle. We all built it into a blacksmith,” he said.
Sonnie Badu expressed the urgent need for the sector minister to have an engagement with Black Sherif and his management to know what means they could help promote him for his works to gain recognition.
“We have to be deliberate. If I were an entertainment minister, I’d look out for this guy and say, ‘What do we need to do to project him in this season and maybe another season?” he stated.
Sonnie Badu therefore called for unity among the industry players and urged them to support and promote each other.
