MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Credit those who write your songs – Kuami Eugene to Musicians

Date:

Highlife artiste, Kuami Eugene has expressed the need for musicians to properly credit those who write songs for them to hit the limelight.

According to him, many after gaining hit tracks forget to credit the writer and underscored the need for them to give honor to those it is due them.

In a recent media interaction, Kuami Eugene expressed disappointment in Afrobeat musician, Mr. Drew for his inability to credit him for the 80 percent contributions he made in his “Case” track.

“Mr. Drew’s song, ‘Case’ I wrote the hook and some part of the second verse. I wrote like 80 percent of that song. In fact, before he came to record the song, that hook and everything was already done, he heard it and sang it back,” he stated.

The “cryptocurrency” crooner lamented that Mr. Drew released the song when he least expected and failed to even contact his manager to inform him about it.

He termed it as unfortunate that he had to reveal the bothering issue in a media platform before Mr. Drew would see the need to do the right thing after the track gained him lots of attention.

“He is a brother, I wish we could appropriate where credit is due in the industry and give respect so we can move on as individuals,” he added.
