MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Singing gospel in English doesn’t make you an international artiste – Patience Nyarko

Date:

Controversial gospel chanteuse, Patience Nyarko has shot down claims that singing gospel in English dialect will make your songs be recognized internationally.

She said no Ghanaian gospel musician can claim her song is sang worldwide because the lyrics is in English.

Patience Nyarko made this assertion during an interview on Max 89.7 FM in Accra on Friday.

The talented gospel star stated that “Jerusalem” was not written in English, yet the track was a hit almost in every country worldwide, thus makes that popular claim fallacious.

In order to have an impact on her listeners or admirers, she explained that singing in English hinders her flow and that she prefers to use the language in which she is more at ease and is more conversant.

Patience Nyarko said gospel music is all about impacting souls therefore singing in an unknown language with a sole aim of being recognized Internationally was just for entertainment and not for impartation.

Proving her critics wrong, she indicated that she has a song titled “hallowed” which the lyrics was in english, that, she said did not necessarily mean that it has gained her International recognition.

“I believe that once you are a musician and your songs are on YouTube and other digital streamline platforms, you are an international artiste unless critics have new meaning to what an international artiste is,” she explained.
