Dong Bortey: Hearts must give Samuel Boadu time just as they did for Jones Attuquayefio

Date:

Legendary member of Hearts of Oak, Bernard Don Bortey, has pleaded with club leadership to give Samuel Boadu adequate time to serve as head coach.

Don Bortey asserts that the coach should be in control of the squad going into the upcoming football season despite cries for the youthful tactician to be fired.

He suggests that rather than dismissing the coach, he should be given more time, much like the illustrious Jones Attuquayefio received.

“Unless the coach [Samuel Boadu] wishes to leave his position, I will advise Hearts to keep him for the African campaign and next season.

“Jones Attuquayefio had plenty of time at Hearts of Oak to excel. So, give Boadu time to assemble a formidable team for Hearts and focus on Africa,” Don Bortey said in an interview with an Accra-based FM station.

Since taking over as coach at Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu has been successful in helping the squad win five titles.

Last year, he and the Phobians won the MTN FA Cup, and he will likely captain the group as it competes in the CAF Confederations Cup the following year.
