The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has revealed that the country’s COVID-19 case count is now at 28,989 following 559 confirmed new cases.
The update released on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 indicates that the new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in 36 districts across eight regions of the country.
The number of active COVID-19 cases stand at 3,505 whiles deaths are 153.
The Greater Accra region, which is the region that hosts the capital, has over 50% of cases with over 15,000 cases.
The five most impacted regions are as follows: Greater Accra Region – 15,519; Ashanti Region – 6,264; Western Region – 2,310; Central Region – 1,236 and Eastern Region – 1,091.
