The Head of Public Affairs of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), John Kapi, has confirmed the prosecution of four persons for malpractices in the 2025 BECE at Kintampo in the Bono East Region.
The four persons are Diana Tii, a teacher at Krabonso D/A School, Sylvester, an accomplice of Diana and also teacher. Boi Edmond Merratro (teacher) and Samuel Waabero (administrator) of Just Love International School.
Tii and Sylvester were sentenced to 30 days in prison after pleading guilty to smuggling and distributing photocopied materials in the examination hall to candidates.
Boi Edmond Merrato and Waabero also received a 30-day prison sentence but with hard labour after pleading guilty to solving computing questions.
Mr Kapi added the Ghana Education Service could take further action against the teachers by applying its rules based on its code of conduct.
