President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed profound sympathy for the victims of the January 2 fire that ravaged Kantamanto Market in Accra, leaving many traders devastated and their livelihoods destroyed.
In his final State of the Nation address on January 3, the President described the incident as “deeply shocking” and extended his condolences to those who lost their investments and hard work. “My thoughts and prayers are with those affected,” he said.
Akufo-Addo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to aiding the victims, promising to collaborate with relevant agencies to determine the cause of the fire and provide necessary support to help traders rebuild their lives and businesses.
