Many questioned Mikel Arteta to force Kai Havertz’s transfer to Arsenal two seasons ago when he was considered an underperformer at Chelsea after helping them to their second UCL title in Porto.
The German forward has slowly and steadily warmed his way into the hearts of Gunners with improving performances, mostly thanks to the blind trust Arteta has in him.
In Arsenal’s second game in this season’s Champions League, Havertz scored his fifth goal in nine games against Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint German.
“He has been unbelievable. His football brain, the way he understands space, timing, the way he brings people together and his work ethic is incredible,” Arteta eulogised the German striker.
Arsenal showed great maturity to see out the game after Bukayo Saka doubled his side’s lead in the first half.
