2024-25 GPL: Kotoko end losing streak, GoldStars regain top spot, as Dreams suffer nightmare

Date:

Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways in matchday 12 of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season after a convincing 0-2 away win over Aduana FC.

The Porcupine Warriors stunned their host with a superb collective display as Albert Amoah scored yet again for the away side in the league after Patrick Asiedu had given them a 12th-minute lead.

At the Tuba Astro Turf, 2023-24 CAF Confederations Cup semifinalists Dreams FC were left shocked by Karela United FC, who travelled all the way from Tamale to win 0-1 in Accra.

Nations FC lost their lead at the top of the league standings as they lost 0-1 to Berekum Chelsea at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese, Kumasi.

Young Apostles were taught a football lesson by the 2022-23 GPL winners Medeama SC at their home grounds in Wenchi.

Derrick Fordjour and Prince Owusu scored in each half, respectively, as the former champions move upwards into the top four zone.

Meanwhile, the league’s defending champions FC Samartex were beaten by newcomers Basake Holy Stars by a goal to nothing.

Kwadwo Obeng Junior, Mustapha Yakubu, and Nana Oppong scored to drive fans at the Kpado Sports Stadium wild as Heart of Lions handed Legon Cities a beatdown.

Salim Adams earned a point for Hearts of Oak as they were held to a 1-1 draw at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium by the defending MTN FA Cup winners, Nsoatreman FC.
